All the glass for this window was made in Belgium, and has not been available since World War I. The pink and gold shades are a result of actual gold fused to the glass as it was created. While there are a few peacock staned windows left in denver, this one is particularly interesting, as it is the only one which is in such as surrealist pattern as well as being a unique shape, unlike others (such as the peacock at the Molly Brown house) which is rectangular.
It is believed that this piece was created by Watkins Stained Glass, a family company with a long history of building masterworks in glass since 1761. The Watkins family did many pieces for William lang, the architect of The Castle Marne. Watkins Glass is world renowned for being one of the best stained glass companies in the world, and also known in Denver for the building and fabrication of the amazing stained glass skylight at the Brown Palace, the windows of the Molly Brown House, as well as many of the beautiful stained glass art throughout the Denver community.
