On the upper portion of the Mantle in the Front Parlor you can see the carved, dolphin-like figures. Sailors have been welcomed to port for centuries by dolphins, swimming alongside their ships as they make their way into the harbor. These are part of The Castle Marne’s welcome to our guests!

In the fireplace in the front parlor you can see a Green Man in the hand-carved fireplace. The fireplace is believed to have come from England, created from Onyx from Oxaca, Mexico. The Green Man is an ancient symbol, used by the early Pagans and Christians as a symbol of the cycle of nature, dying every year to be reborn again in the spring. The Christians saw him as a symbol of life after death.
